Almost without a doubt, the children of several Andersen employees went to bed the night of Dec. 15, dreaming of one day playing in the NFL.
More than 30 children and their parents won a drawing to participate in the Minnesota Football Showcase, presented by Andersen. The event was held on the field at US Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, and included a youth football clinic, a chance to meet current and retired Vikings greats, and tickets to the Minnesota High School All-Star Game.
To say the youth who participated were excited is an understatement.
“The best part was just seeing the kids’ excitement of being on the real field that the Vikings were to play on the next day,” said Aaron, a permitting and inspection coordinator at Renewal by Andersen-Twin Cities.
Being given the opportunity to take the field “gave the kids a huge boost of confidence,” said Heidi, an Andersen customer service specialist in Oak Park Heights.
Jasmine's son would agree.
“We had a great experience in its entirety! I’m not sure we could zone in on just one event,” said Jasmine, a customer service representative in Bayport. “He could not believe he got to go out on the field.”
Lindsey, a talent acquisition systems administrator in Oak Park Heights, said her son's favorite part was doing drills with the coaches and kids his age. “They did a great job making sure each kid had fun!” Lindsey said.
The favorite part of the day for Amanda’s child? “The football clinic. My son had a blast!” said Amanda, a training team lead at Renewal by Andersen in Cottage Grove.
The Minnesota Football Showcase is part of Andersen’s sponsorship with the Vikings.
