A Legacy of Innovation

For 115 years, our customers have looked to Andersen as the industry leader providing unique window and door solutions. We have proven our leadership with more than 100 patents that offer true differentiation for our customers – whether they are homeowners, builders, dealers or architects. Smart home technology, sustainability, installation ease and energy efficiency are key focal points of our innovation efforts.

We uphold our legacy of innovation and embrace change in all areas of our business as a mean of attaining and sustaining leadership.

The Andersen legacy of innovative craftsmanship continues into the 21st century with more industry firsts. From virtually invisible TruScene® insect screens, to the innovative and architecturally inspired A-Series product line, to revolutionary 100 Series products, to first-of-its kind technology with the VeriLock® system, to Andersen’s proprietary Fibrex® material, the legacy of innovation continues.

But innovation does not just happen all by itself – it occurs because of the many talented, passionate and committed people who have been part of the Andersen “family” for over a century.

Easy Connect Joining System Named Most Innovative Window by Window & Door Magazine

The patented Easy Connect Joining System for Andersen’s A-Series windows utilizes innovative interlocking fiberglass joining plates that are pre-applied to the window frames at the factory. Large window combinations are factory assembled in smaller sub-group combinations with the joining plates applied so that they arrive ready to install directly into the rough opening and ready to be connected to adjoining combinations, delivering the ultimate in job site conveniences and making installation easier. This revolutionary system not only offers convenience at the job site, it also reduces costs for contractors and builders and enables them to do more in a tight labor market. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Take for instance our patent-pending Installation Guide Configurator. This new smart tool allows a user to customize their installation journey by answering self-guided questions. By answering a few simple product and construction questions, the technology builds a customized installation guide in a printable PDF format and/or animated step-by-step support video where available. Multiple language options help take the guesswork out of translations. Created specifically for the window or patio door you are installing as well as the construction of the building, the customized installation instructions include preparing the rough opening, sealing, shimming, fastening, flashing, and water management. The Andersen Installation Guide Configurator can be accessed via desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Innovation in the Community

Through numerous non-profit and for-profit ventures, Andersen has been one of Yellowstone National Park’s strategic allies in their commitment to make Yellowstone the “greenest” park in the world. In 2015, our donation of energy-efficient, durable Andersen® 100 Series windows for a new employee dormitory in Yellowstone’s Old Faithful area enabled the Park Service to achieve a LEED Platinum rating for the first time in a national park building.
