Andersen Windows Introduces Architectural Collection

BAYPORT, Minn. (May 2012) — Andersen Windows today introduces the Andersen® Architectural Collection of windows and doors; illuminating the choices and energizing the building and remodeling process by strategically bringing two upper premium product lines together. Andersen A-Series and E-Series/Eagle® windows and doors: the perfect balance of architectural style and imagination in the hands of architects and homeowners.

Aware that each customer has a different idea of home, Andersen began working with an architectural and design team almost a decade ago to create what is now the Architectural Collection. As the Andersen Architectural Collection, style, options and performance come together in the Andersen A-Series and E-Series/Eagle product lines. Making it easy to dream, easy to design and easy to install by bringing the best attributes of these distinct lines of windows and doors into a single collection capable of meeting or exceeding the expectations of design and trade professionals as well as homeowners.

“The Andersen Architectural Collection of windows and doors is the result of years of research and strategic acquisitions to bring the right products together for our dealers and homeowners,” said Jay Lund, president and chief executive officer, Andersen Windows. “Enhancing the buying experience for our customers is a key driver of this with the right tools and fully compatible options.”

“Customers know exactly the kind of house they want to build and live in, but not always how to create it. Our Architectural Collection makes it easier to realize that vision. It helps everyone involved in bringing that dream to life to create a place the customer has always wanted to call home.”

Andersen A-Series products are ideal for those who see themselves in a home with a defined architectural style – whether it’s a stately Queen Anne, a bold Modernist design or anything in between. For homeowners committed to pushing style to the limit, E-Series/Eagle® windows and doors provide nearly infinite options to create a home style that’s truly unique.

Andersen identified two critical points in imagining the Architectural Collection — the necessity of careful research and creating a common language to break down barriers and enhance understanding between customers and design professionals. The result is the debut of the Andersen Home Style Library; a collection of distinct, historic architectural styles from Federal to Queen Anne to Prairie and an understanding of how to create that style and share a vision using Andersen A-Series windows and doors. In time, the Home Style Library will grow as a resource. In addition, the Architectural Collection’s E-Series/Eagle line of windows and doors opens design to nearly unlimited possibilities in color, wood species and interior finishes to create new and distinct styles unique to each homeowner.

“The A-Series product line informs us as to a known set of styles or themes,” said Dale Mulfinger, educator, author and principal at SALA Architects in the Twin Cities. “Whereas the E-Series product line gives us the opportunity to invent, create, mix-and-match and pull together our own unique possibilities for windows. So, together these windows give us the greatest possible breadth of opportunities for maximizing a view, letting light in, and enriching the style of our homes. And it does all this while providing performance that continues to be a foundation of our client’s expectations.”

The launch of the Andersen Architectural Collection of windows and doors also begins the transition of Eagle window and doors to Andersen E-Series/Eagle products. Eagle will gradually migrate to its new name, E-Series windows and doors, but the design, quality, performance and myriad options Eagle is known for will carry through in the same products the company has been building for decades.
