Our Employees Participate in a Habitat for Humanity Women Build

Last week, 30 women representing Andersen Corporation were hard at work framing, applying foam board and house wrap, installing Andersen windows and sheathing the roof of a house at a Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity Women Build in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Whether our women were first-time home builders or long-time volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, everyone was eager to put their hearts into their work.

The new house will soon be home to Adanech Dinka and her 5-year-old daughter Abigail. Adanech moved to Minnesota from Ethiopia in the early 2000’s. Happy to have found Twin Cities Habitat after hearing about the program’s great reputation from a friend, Adanech is looking forward to the affordable interest rates and quality housing that Habitat for Humanity provides, as well as being able to host her friends and family in her new, larger, home. “It is great to know who will be moving into the home we worked on,” said Alane Wood, lead talent acquisition partner at Andersen Corporation.

Over the past five years, Andersen Corporate Foundation has donated $1,746,500 and many helping hands to Habitat for Humanity so that families and individuals like Adanech can feel comfortable making memories in a space they can call their own for years to come.
